This Privacy Policy explains how International Draughts (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We are committed to respecting your privacy. The App is designed to collect only the minimum amount of data needed to deliver a functional and enjoyable experience.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Username — When you choose to play online, you are asked to create a username (3–20 alphanumeric characters). This is the only personal identifier we collect.
- Local player names — You may optionally customise player names for local games. These names are stored on your device only and are never sent to our servers.
1.2 Information Generated Through Gameplay
- Game data — Board states, move history, and game results are recorded during play. For local and AI games, this data stays on your device. For online games, game moves and results are transmitted to our server.
- Statistics — Games played, won, lost, drawn, win rate, and win streaks are tracked locally on your device. Our server maintains separate statistics for online games.
- ELO rating — A competitive rating calculated from your online game results, stored on our server.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
- Authentication token — A randomly generated token is created when you register for online play. It is stored securely on your device and used to authenticate requests to our server.
- Purchase status — If you purchase the “Remove Ads” option, the purchase status is verified through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and a local flag is stored on your device.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be clear about what we do not collect:
- We do not collect your email address
- We do not collect passwords (authentication is token-based)
- We do not collect your real name, phone number, or mailing address
- We do not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos
- We do not use any analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with data brokers
3. How We Use Your Information

4. Data Storage & Security
On Your Device
Game history, settings, statistics, player names, and purchase status are stored locally using AsyncStorage. Your authentication token is stored using encrypted secure storage on native platforms (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
On Our Server
For online play, your username, online game history, game results, and ELO rating are stored on our server at draughts.pcgurudm.com. Communication between the App and our server is encrypted using HTTPS and WSS (WebSocket Secure).
5. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
Google AdMob
We display banner and interstitial advertisements through Google AdMob. The AdMob SDK may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID), IP address, and ad interaction data to serve personalised or non-personalised ads. This data is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
Apple App Store & Google Play Store
In-app purchases (the “Remove Ads” option) are processed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. Purchase verification is handled through the respective platform’s APIs.
We do not integrate any analytics, crash-reporting, or social media SDKs.
6. Publicly Visible Information
If you register for online play, the following information may be visible to other users:
- Your username — displayed in the game lobby, during online matches, and on the global leaderboard
- Your ELO rating — displayed on the global leaderboard
- Your online statistics — games played, games won, and win rate are visible on the leaderboard
7. Data Retention

8. Your Rights & Choices
- Play offline — You can use the App entirely offline (local and AI modes) without creating an account or sharing any data with our server.
- Reset local statistics — You can clear all locally stored statistics at any time from the Settings screen.
- Remove ads — You can purchase the “Remove Ads” option to stop all advertisement display and the associated data collection by the AdMob SDK.
- Clear app data — You can clear all locally stored data by clearing the App’s storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.
- Ad personalisation — You can opt out of personalised advertising through your device’s privacy settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy > Tracking; Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads).
- Request data deletion — To request deletion of your server-side data (username, online game history, ELO rating), please contact us using the details below.
9. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
